I love helping artists. More than anything, I love to help artists build careers to make a difference in the world. After working with a whole host of talented creatives and experiencing the challenges many artists face, I found myself working in artist development. Through sharing my experiences, I discovered how much more I got out of helping people turn huge dreams into reality.

Writing advice for artists was incredibly fulfilling. Especially when the content I wrote, edited and optimised started bringing in more and more traffic from aspiring singers and songwriters. After several months a small blog turned into 100,000 monthly visitors. I hold hope that at least one of those used the knowledge they read to turn their career and life around.

It quickly became clear to me that artist development was about developing businesses as much as creative minds. This is why I pursued my MSc Management to learn and experience projects involving strategy, finance and digital leadership. Branding, sales and marketing are also just as important to an artist's career as their musical output. But perhaps, most importantly, getting paid is the foundation for any job or business. And honestly, I was shocked at how difficult and complicated this can be.

Creating value at the intersection of technology and creativity is the way forward to not only for the music industry but for the world. There are so many artists out there that have so much to give to the world and deserve to get paid. You only need to look at the likes of Stormzy, Tiwa Savage and Mr Eazi to see how putting more money in artists pockets can have a transformative effect on our societies. These are not just artists, but creative social entrepreneurs who will build a better future for us all. Whatever the future holds, these are the people I want to support.

If you work in the creative industries, whether you're an artist or working professional, please feel free to get in touch!
